Q: I am not very technically minded, can you do ‘everything’ for me?
A: YES! (almost) everything: I will explain every step of the process, and always consult you before making decisions. Just let me know if you don’t understand.
Q: where exactly are you based?
A: I live and work in Kent, in the South East of the UK.
Q: Do you do Web Hosting?
A: YES. I can host your existing site(s) and/or any site(s) which I build for you: Details here
Q: I need this done yesterday! Can you help?
A: I am a meticulous, thoughtful designer and I don’t like to rush work through. There are other guys out there who run a 48hr service (for a price): They are your saviours.
Q: I live on the other side of the planet: Can we do the whole thing via email?
A: Yes! I have worked on many projects this way. Occasionally the use of live messaging or phone calls can speed things along too.
Q: I nearly have all of the photos for my site, can we get started now?
A: As a rule I will not start work until you have all of the content ready (neither of us wants to be hassling the other!). - I will draw up a schedule of work, and we wil both agree, in the contract, to stick to this.
Q: Will my website work on both PCs and Macs?
A: 100% YES for all current browsers. If you have more specific requirements let me know!
Q: Do you offer updates?
A: If you have a new site designed by me then I always offer a tailor made contract for updates and revisions.
Q: I already have a website, but it needs some work. Do you revamp existing websites?
A: Tell me what you would like done and I will take a look at your site to see what I can offer. It may be a very simple process or it might be quicker and easier to start with new code. (Please check your current web-design contract to ensure that I would not in breach of any terms)
Q: Can I access the files and code in my website for future changes?
A: YES! You bought it, so you own it. Nothing is locked or protected, so any designer that you choose can update the site in future.
Q: How much does it all cost?
A: I try to keep things simple so take a look at my pricing structure here
Q: How can I pay?
A: I prefer a direct bank transfer, or PayPal because it's safe and easy, but if not then cheque is fine. (Please note that I will not start the next stage of work until the cheque has cleared)
Q: When do I pay you?
A: I work on a 20%, 60%, 20% payment schedule. I ask for 20% up front and then bill for the work as I complete each step of the process. - It works brilliantly and keeps both parties happy.
Q: Can I talk to a real human being?
A: Sure! Just fill in some quick details on the contact page and I will phone you as soon as I am back at my desk. (don't forget to tell me your phone number!)
Q: Do you work with Flash and ActionScript?
A: I can work with Flash and ActionScript. I prefer to use an efficient mix of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, PHP and now HTML5. - Building an entire website in Flash means that some of your target audience will not be able to view it, owing to browser incompatibilities. Let me know what you have in mind and we can talk about it.
